Let’s Get Personal
As you likely read on the homepage of my website, I moved to Osseo in 2004 with my parents. Once my husband and I bought our home and had our baby, that made it three generations of my family living here all at once. In a town as small as this, that is a pretty special thing to have and I hold it dearly. I treasure that I can walk to my parents’ house for dinner with their grandson.

Here is one of the first pictures of me in my new “hometown” of Osseo, circa 2004. Being a teenager is not an easy time to transition to a new place, but I did love finally having my own room (no matter what my unenthused teenage face says here).
My husband, Dan Cain, and I met in law school and have been together ever since. We graduated amid the pandemic so our pictures look a little different than you would expect of graduation photos.
My husband and I both believe in supporting small, local businesses as much as possible. We had our baby shower at the Osseo Community Center. We got our wedding rings and my engagement ring from Hoskins Jewelry. Our closets seem to be mostly comprised of clothes from the 32nd Collective and the Community Exchange for Change (AKA Osseo clothing swap). Flowers for our wedding came from Infinity Floral. The chocolate we give as gifts (specifically, the one with fruits and almonds in it) comes from the Painted Turtle Chocolatier. The list goes on! Formerly pregnant me would very much like to recommend to you the egg lemon (Avgolemono) soup from Olympia.
We love to take advantage of the nice days in Osseo. As simple as laying on a blanket outside and play in the fresh air. This does not get to happen in every city, Osseo is special!
I do not post my baby or his name online, so we will have to catch you out on a walk or at an event and then I will be happy to introduce you!
What you need to know about me personally is that I am a real and genuine person in addition to all of my experience and education that qualify me for the position of Mayor. I am not just a resident of Osseo, I am your neighbor. I’m waving to you, I’m asking how your kids are doing, if you have had any luck with the doctor yet . . . and not because I am running for Mayor. It is who I am and who I will be whether I am in office or not. That is who we ought to be to one another if we want Osseo to be here another 151 years. I know I do and a lot my neighbors, too.
