City Council (and Mayor)

Meetings

Council meetings are held the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Council meetings are held in the City Hall Council Chambers at 415 Central Avenue.

All meetings (with the exception limited by law) are open to the public and are cable casted live on Northwest Cable Channel 16.

Terms

The Mayor serves a two-year term.

Four Councilmembers serve staggered four-year terms.

Elections

City elections are held in the fall of even numbered years.

Councilmembers serve at-large; there are no wards or districts in the City of Osseo.

Responsibilities

The four Councilmembers and Mayor are responsible for approving operating and capital improvement budgets, employing City workers, establishing City policies, regulations and ordinances, maintaining public facilities, and planning the City’s future.
